We cannot believe that that is us in our second term at Playgroup, the time has just flown by! We are delighted that all of the children settled in so well on their return, especially as some of them had not been since March.
We are still following the guidelines as per our return, as they have not changed, and we ask that you continue to adhere to them as well, to minimise the risk of the spread of Coronavirus –
o Keep to the 2 meters distancing when dropping off/collecting your child.
o Please drop off/pick up at your groups allotted time.
We are now learning about Autumn and will be having fun with the changing colours of the leaves and finding pinecones, chestnuts etc.
We will also be having a ‘Halloween’ week, next week, and finishing on Friday (30/10/2020) with a Halloween day.
Children will be allowed to dress up in a costume, but please do not have the accessories on it i.e. hats/masks/tiaras/wands/wings etc. Can you also make sure that their clothing will be warm enough for them too, as we will be outdoors at some point in the day.
We will provide snack and lunch that day – they children will be making cupcakes and sandwiches and we will have fruit, yogurts, sausages and crisps. We will also be ‘dooking for apples and marshmallows’ as well as other ‘spooky’ activities.
After Halloween we will touch briefly on Bonfire safety and then we will move onto a story book theme. This will be chosen by our student Holly, and she will be taking the lead in this topic. We will let you know of her chosen book soon.
Family Involvement – As we cannot have parents into the Playroom, we are asking if you would like to bring your carved pumpkins to Playgroup (on Wednesday 28th October) where we will display them on our steps to make a pumpkin patch. We will bring them inside at night and you can take them back home on Friday 30th for Halloween. We look forward to seeing all your creative pumpkins.
Many thanks to the parents who have kindly volunteered to join our committee. We held a ‘zoom’ AGM meeting on the 29th September which went well and was the quickest AGM in history!!! We will have a committee meeting sometime in November with the new committee.
It is with much sadness that we will not be able to do our Nativity production this year with you all in to see it. We are trying to plan a wee something for you, but we will let you know in the next newsletter.
Can we please ask that if your children wear/take their wellies home, can they be brought in to Playgroup as we are outdoors each day.
Can you make sure there is a change of clothes in your child’s bag, maybe a couple of pairs of socks, as we are low on spare clothes for changing.
Can we also ask that you make sure the children’s sweatshirts have their names on them.
Lisa will be leaving us soon to go on Maternity leave. We will miss her but look forward to meeting her new baby soon. Janice will step in and work with Lisa’s group while she is on leave.
Playgroup will be closed for the children on Friday 27th and Monday 30th November 2020 as these are staff in-service days.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
